Introductory Workshops

Intro to Equity-Centered Design

This quick, introductory experience will expose your team to the language, framework, and behaviors of equity-centered design – and how it differs from the normal way of solving problems.

This workshop will:

  • Introduce a practice of self-awareness that allows for more human-centered, equitable design outcomes for your clients/customers
  • Identify problems through an equity lens to enable your team to understand context
  • Provide you with tools and methods to obtain qualitative data

Utilizing empathy methods helps teams discover and clarify stakeholder needs, experiences, and emotions in order to design better products and services tailored for them.  Build your team’s confidence to interact with stakeholders in productive, authentic, and insightful ways.

  • Introduce methods that surface underlying motivations, values, and needs

WMCAT is now exclusively positioned to operationalize and implement the anti-racism organizational assessment tool from Partners for a Racism Free Community (PRFC).

This is an additional tool offered in conjunction with longer-term engagements to better understand current conditions of your organization so that you can take action in redesigning policies, practices, and culture for equity and anti-racism. More information coming January 2021.
